Your First Visit
Your first visit is designed to find out what condition you are in, it will consist of the following steps:
You will be asked to fill out a New Patient form, which will provide background information about your conditions and symptoms.
You will then proceed to the examination room, where your Chiropractor will take a complete health history.
This is followed by the examination which consists of posture analysis, orthopaedic and neurological tests.
An EMG scan will be performed, which will aid in the diagnosis by showing areas of abnormal muscle function.
If there are indications that further investigations by X-ray are required, you will be immediately informed by your Chiropractor who will request your consent to proceed with this investigation. We take and develop X-rays at our clinics, but should you have any X-rays or MRI scans of your own, please bring them with you.
If there are any indications that you should be seen by another health practitioner (GP or specialist) you will be informed of this immediately and the necessary letters will be written for you.
When all of the above has been completed, you will be booked in for the Report of Findings, which is a follow-up session where your Chiropractor will explain your examination results, what they mean, and your specific plan of care designed to tackle these problems.
On this occasion you will also receive your first chiropractic adjustment and be booked in for a health care class. These are not obligatory, but come highly recommended. If you have any questions or concerns, always feel free to ask, we are here to help you in the best way we know how to.
